Ms. Monique Johnson was born and raised in Counech County, Alabama. She graduated from Hillcrest High school in 1999. Ms. Johnson moved to Birmingham, Al in 2003 to attend the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. She then pursed her Master’s in Counseling and Psychology and received her degree from Troy University in Montgomery, Al. Ms. Johnson continued her education by returning to the University of Alabama at Birmingham and earned her Ed.S in Counseling and Supervision.
Throughout her experience and training, she has received awards and earned numerous certifications.
Ms. Johnson is a Licensed Professional Counselor- Supervisor and a Registered Play Therapist- Supervisor specializing in working with children and adolescents with trauma as well as adjustment issues. Ms. Johnson is also a Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist specializing in helping individuals of all ages learn the importance of mastering their emotions.
